The 2009-2010 DYC SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
DISTRICT YOUTH EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH YOUTH (Grades 6 - 12). ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED FROM THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WITH WHICH THE YOUTH ARE AFFILIATED.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010 - Youth Leaders Network, Fall Connection 2010, East Ohio Conference of the UMC, 7:00 p.m. - Canfield First UMC, 27 S. Broad St., An opportunity for youth workers (volunteers and paid staff) to gather in their Districts to connect with one another. This will be an opportunity to share the joys of serving in Youth Ministry as well as where support is needed. No matter if you have been in Youth Ministry 2 months, or 20 years, you have a story to tell and a new idea to share and learn!) click here for a flyer
Saturday September 25, 2010 - Kick Off Carnival and Special Election - Location: Vienna UMC, 4265 Warren Sharon Rd., Time: 1:00 p.m. - Set up booths, 2-6 p.m. - Carnival, 3:00 p.m. - Worship and Elections; Cost $5.00 a person - includes activities, music 50% of proceeds will go to Youth Service Fund. NOTE: Volleyball, corn Hole and Tournaments will be held. Local churches are encourages to create a "booth" or game to share.
Sunday, October 24 - Skate Zone and Worship - 3:30 p.m. worship at Smith Corners UMC; 5 - 8 p.m., Skating at Skate Zone on Mahoning Ave. in Austintown. Cost is $10 per person.
Sunday, November 21 - Worship Service at Wellsville UMC - 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
January 14, 2011 - YMCA NIGHT - 8:00 p.m. registration and 8:30 p.m. worship at Trinity UMC. 8:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. - Admission to the Downtown Youngstown UMCA. Cost $13.00 per person.
March 4, 5, 6 - DISTRICT RETREAT - Camp Asbury, Hiram, Ohio; cost: $72.00 a person

What is the District Youth Council (DYC)? DYC is made up of youth elected from local churches, and representatives to the Conference Council on Youth Ministry (CCYM). The DYC also consists of a team of adults passionate about youth ministry. The DYC Mission is to share God's lvoe in ways that will bring others to accept Christ into their hearts and live for Him! We do this by developing youth leaders who serve God humbly as they plan events for the Mahoning Valley District. OUr goal is to enhance local youth ministries, build connections with people, foster personal relationships with Christ and have fun doing so. The DYC is here to serve you, if the DYC can assist you in your ministry, please contact Rev. Ruth Roth (see above).
